Mama's "Ybor Mama" Carol Steen
Carol “Mama’s Ybor Mama” Steen, is a pillar
in our Community for a great number of years.
She has been in the Tampa area for well over 20 years where she
has raised her maternal as well as many other “kids”.
Mama, for whom she is known by in the community, is also a heavy
kinky person. One can catch
her at Work in one of her many Corsets and displaying one of her awesome
tats. She has been known to
take a paddle from behind her bar and wail on a customer for any reason
she sees fit.
Carol started her journey into Mama Hood many moons
ago when she used to help out those that were estranged from their blood
family’s and didn’t have anywhere else to turn.
She would make sure that the “kids” would have a shoulder to cry
on, a hug of encouragement, and sometimes food to eat.
Carol earned the title Mama Ybor from these kids that are now
adults and still call her Mama for all the help and unconditional Love
that was given. Carol
installed these values on her own kids and family and at any given time
you can see her children out having fun with all people in and out of
the Ybor Clubs.
Mama is not one to step down from a challenge.
She is a Proud Member of the Gaybor Coalition as well as one of
the founding members for the Tampa Bay Leather Tribe where she holds the
Position of Female Co Chief with her Male Counterpart Bobby McKenzie.
When asked why she does it she says “ it is all
about Karma, I believe whatever one gives out they receive back. I love
unconditionally and thus I am loved, I give unconditionally thus I
receive”
One can Catch Mama out and about in Ybor as well as
at Hamburger Mary’s Ybor slinging drinks, food and an occasional
smacking.
